Nominator's project description
| Professor Akay is an international authority on dynamics and vibrations, technical acoustics and fluid structure interaction. He has made important contributions to engineering systems with friction, particularly modeling energy dissipation in friction on a mezzo scale. Professor Akay combines physical insight with deep mathematical understanding. During his stay in Germany he will continue his research on active and passive vibration control. |
